SwiftFinances didn’t start in a boardroom; it started at my basement.

Like many Canadian parents, I found myself doing "napkin math" late at night, trying to figure out the big picture of our household cash flow. I wanted to know if we could afford a bigger home, how much an RRSP contribution would actually change our tax bill, or how much to set aside for our daughter's RESP.

I realized pretty quickly that most tax calculators out there are built for accountants. They’re cold, complex, and full of jargon. They give you a number, but they don’t tell the "family story."

I built SwiftFinances to fill that gap.

My goal is to provide fast, accurate, and family-focused tools that help you make smarter decisions without needing a degree in finance. Whether you're curious about practical strategies like the Smith Manoeuvre or just want to see your real take-home pay, I want this to be a clean, simple resource for you.

A Few Things I Care About:

• Accuracy: All tools are built using the latest CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) 2025-2026 tax tables. I keep the math updated so you can plan with confidence.
• Privacy: This is a big one for me. I never see your data. All calculations happen right in your own browser via JavaScript. No financial details are ever sent to a server or stored by me.
• Simplicity: I want to replace slow, ad-heavy corporate sites with something modern and "light." You're here to get an answer, not to be bombarded with pop-ups.

At the end of the day, this is a personal project born out of a desire for better "napkin math." I hope these tools help your family as much as they've helped mine.
